SUPER 8

Shot on real Super 8 motion film, our footage carries the warmth, the soft flicker, the gentle imperfection that turns a wedding day into something that feels less like video — and more like memory.

— THE INSTRUMENT —

The Canon XL512,
loaded by hand.

A vintage Canon XL512 is hand-loaded with fresh Super 8 stock and carried alongside our digital cameras through the most meaningful moments of the day. Fifty feet of film. Roughly three and a half minutes of motion per cartridge. Captured in the way wedding films were captured in the very beginning.

The result is footage that doesn't try to be cinematic in the digital sense — it simply is. The image breathes. The light leaks a little. The frame holds something digital coverage cannot.

— REEL II · MOTION STUDIES —

The day, in motion.

Two short reels — not commercial videos, just fragments of motion the way Super 8 sees it. Play them with the sound on, full screen, and a little slowness.

Reel I · 00:00 — 03:24 Super 8 · Canon XL512

Watch a Super 8 reel and you'll feel something digital can't quite name — the way the light flickers, the way the people inside the frame seem to belong to another, softer year.

Reel II · 00:00 — 02:48 Super 8 · Canon XL512
Reel III · The Feeling of It
Couple walking away — a Super 8 still
Bride and groom under a sunlit veil — a Super 8 still

Motion that feels
like memory,
not like footage.

A walk into the light. A laugh that lasts three frames. The flutter of a veil. Super 8 doesn't try to record everything — it remembers the parts of the day you'll carry the longest, and lets the rest dissolve in the way memory always does.
Reel III · 00:02:14:08 24 fps · Vision3 50D
Late-night reception champagne — soft, low-light Super 8 still
— REEL IV · ON IMPERFECTION —

Imperfect,
in the best
possible way.

The grain. The slight breath of the gate. The way a single frame might over-expose into a halo of light. Super 8 isn't chasing perfection — it is the texture of being alive in a particular hour, on a particular day, with the people you love most.

A short note on how it works

When Super 8
works best.

Super 8 is an emotional layer on top of your day, not a replacement for the main coverage. A few words on how it fits, so it lands beautifully on your wedding.

— Scenario 01

If you're booking video coverage

When you've booked video, your Super 8 footage is woven into the wedding film alongside the digital coverage — the analog texture becomes part of the larger story rather than a separate piece.

— Scenario 02

If you're booking photography only

Without video coverage, you still receive the two Super 8 cartridges as their own delivery — a short edited Super 8 highlight, plus every original clip. A small, separate motion archive of your day.

— Scenario 03

With two shooters on the day

Super 8 shines brightest when there are two operators on the day. One of us can continue covering the essentials digitally while the other moves through the day with the Super 8 camera, capturing the in-between moments on film.

— Scenario 04

With a single shooter

With one shooter, the main camera will naturally prioritize the essential digital coverage of your day. Super 8 still works beautifully — we just shape its emphasis with you in advance, so the moments you most want on film are the ones we reach for first.

However it's woven in, Super 8 is meant to feel rare and intentional — a small handful of the day's most meaningful moments, photographed on film instead of pixels.

“Super 8 doesn't ask to be a perfect record of your wedding day. It asks to be a feeling — the feeling of having been there, exactly as it was, exactly as you'll want to remember it.”
